20 songs through to the Pan Celtic National Song Contest 2020 and a top prize of €1,000!

Carlow is gearing up for the live final of the Pan Celtic National Song Contest 2020 which will take place in the GB Shaw Theatre, Visual on Saturday, 22nd February at 8pm. 20 newly composed songs in the Irish language have been shortlisted for the final and the finalists will go head to head for the top prize of €1,000 and the chance to represent Ireland at the Pan Celtic International Song Contest in April.

The adjudicating panel will consist of singer songwriter John Spillane, Niamh de Búrca herself a recorded artiste and promoter of numerous Irish music events and Carlow resident Fiach Ó Muircheartaigh singer, musician and member of the RTÉ Late Late Show House Band.

20 amhrán sa Chomórtas Amhrán Nua Pan Cheilteach 2020 agus €1000 le buachaint!

Tá 20 amhrán tríd don Chomórtas Náisiúnta Amhrán Nua-Chumtha Pan Cheilteach 2020 a bheidh ar siúl in Amharclann GB Shaw, Ceatharlach oíche Dé Sathairn, 22ú Feabhra ag 8i.n.

Cuirfear na hamhráin i láthair ar an oíche os comhair lucht féachana. Is iad na moltóirí ná an t-amhránaí John Spillane, an ceoltóir agus amhránaí Fiach Ó Muircheartaigh agus Niamh de Búrca amhránaí agus eagraí imeachtaí ceoil. Bronnfar €1,000 móide an trófaí náisiúnta ar an amhrán buacach agus rachaidh an buaiteoir ar aghaidh chun ionadaíocht a dhéanamh ar son na hÉireann ag an gComórtas Idirnáisiúnta i rith na Féile Idirnáisiúnta Pan Cheilteach a bheidh ar siúl i gCeatharlach um Cháisc.

The Seachtain Na Gaeilge Festival in Carlow runs from the 3rd - 17th March 2020

Is féile náisiúnta í Seachtain na Gaeilge agus mar cuid de bíonn féile áitiúil anseo i mBaile Cheatharlach i Mí Márta gach bhliain. Bíonn clár iomlán d’imeachtaí oiriúnach do gach aois ghrúpa ar siúl ar feadh seachtaine roimh Lá le Pádraig agus cuireann Mórshúil na Féile críoch spleodrach leis an spraoi.

Seachtain na Gaeilge takes place in Carlow Town every year in the month of March as part of the national programme celebrating St. Patrick’s Festival. An exciting range of events bring the streets alive over ten days leading up to the gala Town Parade on St. Patrick’s Day.
